This was written during a very emotional time in my life.
Bright Colors and Vivid Lights
Upon this edge I slowly slip Winged angel with wings now clipped Past to future all colourful hues But now just seems to grey through views
And if they fall, smoulder and crash The life once known it turns to ash As winged beast that once knew all We now see them as they fall
Fear rushes to as what we once knew Immortal beings that always flew Fall to the ground like mortals do Theres something unerving about the hue
Deepened grey and flawless black Comes through the brightened crack As eyes once dry through the years Now drenched in saddness and broken tears
And through the darkness where is the light That shows us through the endless night Falling, twirling, crashing, burning And now we watch as the world keeps turning
In the end all that we knew Stopped with a halt and changed it's hue From bright colours and vivid lights To this unforgiving, neverending night

This was an assignment for English class at my school. I don't just write random Canadian poems XD
I Am Canadian
I am the Prairie Spirit I am the leap in every deers playful bound I am Canadian pride, no other pride comes near it I am Tim Hortons, no better coffee and donut place around
I am every rock within the Canadian Shield I am the trees vastly covering the prairie lands I am the moonlight shining blissfully upon the wheat field I am the kind heart within each child, woman and man
I am the snow capping the top of the Rockies I am Hockey Night in Canada, its true I am each colour in the mosaic that is Canada's diversity I am the suds in the Great Western brew
I am the fresh comedy of Corner Gas I am the farmer feeding his livestock I am our freedom stretching wide and vast I am the fisherman sailing into dock
I am the strong, the proud, the free I am the courage at the heart of every man and women I am the voice of the people speaking loud and free I am proud to be Canadian

Freedom Fighters
Cold, crisp air on a starry Autumn night
They marched along in the pale moonlight
To the battlefield where the proud lay dead
For glory and honour they fought for, and bled
Their sons and daughters now fight for their rights
Their right to freedom and their right to fight
No tears will be shed for the strong and true
Tears are for the weak, and that just won't due
To freedom! To freedom! Freedom is what they got
They now lay dead but will not be soon forgot
For the battlefield now stained in red Of the blood of the fighters, and their honoured dead
