Wasit really this hard for him? Cael accepted the hot chocolate with a broad grin. Thank you. He said in a cheerful tone. Looking then back to Cian as he began to drink his hot chocolate. Patiently he waited. He would wait for as long as it takes for Cian to say what had to be said. He watched. Looking at the expression on his face. Cael set his drink down and his brow furrowed. Maybe it was worse then he thought, then finally when Cian literally blurted it out, Cael's hands slapped up to his face, covering his mouth in shock. He made to get up and hug his brother, but he had downed the hot coffee and left the room. Cael sat there feeling stunned and stupid. He felt like shit for questioning. Figuring he should have left it alone and not asked. Now his own tears were about to surface. Pauley..is that true?! He said. Cael sounded a little distressed over it. He couldn't imagine who would want to do such a thing to him. Cian was such a good person. He was the best. that was Cael's opinion. No wonder their mum cried every time he asked about Cian.

Watching and listening to the whole thing, Pauley just let Cian go when he all but ran to the kitchen. She knew her lover. The man needed his space, and she would let him have it. Setting her coffee back on the table, she made sure her pink eyes made contact with eyes that were so much like the one's on the man she loved. Yes, Cael, it is true. I'm the one who found him. He had some home escaped and wound up in an alley, where I found him, nearly dead. Cael, your brother is a strong man, a proud man, but he got into a spot of trouble, and some men decided to take care of it.
Taking a sip from her coffee again, she let the warm mug rest in her hands. Your parents do not even know this, but the men who did it will never be seen or heard from again. Clenching her jaw, her eyes got hard. I made damn sure of that. But tell a soul, and it's more than my life at stake. Her hand wondered down to her belly, which was just now showing very slight signs of showing. Nothing noticable to anyone else but herself. Your brother is a proud man, who is soon to become a father. But that incident will haunt him forever. THe most either of us, or your parents can do, is to be there for him. Okay?

Cael listened to her and had to wipe a few tears away when she said he had been found near death. Why? that was the only question that was running through his mind. It hurt so much to know that someone would do that to him. Then now, finding out that Cian was going to be a father, he himself would be an Uncle. He felt horrible for Cian. He shifted in place a little. Nodding. I would never tell Pauley... Telling would be a bad idea. Because he knew the circumstances. Cian got justice. Perhaps not in the lawful way, but that didn't matter. Not to him. Besides, he was good at keeping secrets. At the last word he nodded again. I understand.

Reaching across the table to give her soon to be brother a hug, albeit an awkward one, Pauley smiled. The doctor's say he will be fine, but it is a matter of time. She sat back down and placed a hand back on her belly. It was good to know that Cian had a family to support him. He knew he had that support as well, but sometimes it just didn't seem like enough. Yet she was at a loss as what else she could possibly do, although every day gets better and better. He was getting better, sometimes, he just didn't want to admit it.
Cian, are you alright, dear? Now if only he would come back and join his brother. The two needed some time together.

Cian was standing in the kitchen. Sipping lightly on the coffee as he then tried to gain the courage to face his brother. More or less for greedy reasons. But soon, just before he heard Pauley call for him. Aye.. I'm alrigh'... He heaved another sigh. Topping off his drink, he shuffled back into the room. Taking a seat. Crossing his legs on the couch again before sitting down. He drinks at his coffee a little more. Looking at Pauley, and then at Cael. To push all conversation away from himself, he asked a very good question. Cael... how did ye get here?

Returning his glance with a reassuring grin, Pauley placed a hand on Cian's thigh, letting it just rest there- a simple way to show that she was still right there. She couldn't help but agree with Cian, though. She had heard a bit of why Cael was there, but not how he got there. I was wondering the same thing. You said you were here because you were worried about Cian. The bigger question is how did you manage to get here?

Cael reached across and hugged in return. it was a little odd hugging over the table. But hey, a hug was a hug. He smiled a little and wiped the tears that did manage to leak out with his sleeve. He picked up the mug and drank back the hot chocolate. Some of it anyway. Watching Cian come in, Cael felt bad for him. For what he had been through, but that he was able to survive what most probably wouldn't was something else. It proved to Cael what he had already believed. He was a fighter, and he was strong. He still loved him and would do anything for him. They would still be brothers no matter what. But Cian's question made him sigh. He had to tell him. It was his turn to shift. I um... I asked... Mr. Donnelly.... He winced back like he was expecting to be beaten or hit or something.

Cian stared at him blankey. No, I'm sorry, you did wha' now? It repeated in his mind and he sat up straight, feet on the floor now too. Cael! Ye fucking numb skulled MORON!!He shouted. Why in God's name would ye do tha'!? Do ye no' realize wha' tha' means!? Cael! I told ye countless bloody times.. NE'VER ASK HIM FOR ANYTHING! He leaned back into the couch and rubbed his face with a loud and audible groan. He looked at Pauley, figuring he should fill her in. Cael is in debt now... He sat up and looked at him sternly. Cian was highly protective and that much was evident. Cael.. you can end up in some very serious trouble doin' this.... It ne'er ends with jus' one fucking payment o' debt.. It can go on an' on Cael! He groaned again. Frustrated now. Mainly because his little brother could be asked to do something that is far from okay.I am goin' te talk te him next time he calls... maybe i can arrange an exchange or something..

Having read enough and saw enough movies about the mob or mafia, or whatever in the hell it was Cian was involved in, Pauley knew what Cael had done was serious. This was one situation she was somewhat familiar with. Just as livid as Cian, but probably a bit more calm and focused on the situation than her counterpart. Once again placing a hand on his leg where it had been knocked off during the short tantrum, she frowned, but was able to keep calm. Cian, calm down. Just take a breath. Believe it or not, I understand the gravity of the situation, and honestly, I kind of expected this answer.
Sitting on the edge of the couch, she looked at both of the boys in her life. Okay, here's what needs to happen. Cael, for here on out, you go NO where without either Cian or myself with you. Cian, we will not freak out until something is requested of him. Perhaps Mr. Donnelly let him come over because of his own fuck up and he felt like he owed you something. As unlikely as that is, it is a possibility. Just give it time, both of you.

He knew what was coming, and he didn't like it. As Cian got mad and started shouting at him, Cael's eyes welled up and he started crying. He stared at Cian with big brown and teary eyes. Nodding as he was scorned. He wiped the tears from his eyes as Pauley then calmed the situation. He quickly finished off his drink to get it out of the way. He was such a softy. But he nodded in understanding at Pauley's orders. Other then that. He sat there to await a verdict between the two adults as of what to do with him.

Cian huffed and sat back. He was fuming pissed. Not at Cael, he understood him and his actions, but it was the people he had asked that he was pissed off at, and Cian could almost garuntee that Cael didn't tell their parents. He was going to call them and tell them. They needed to know that he was okay. Cian listened to Pauley and nodded. It was a good idea. I am stil going te give him a call... I want to make damn sure nothing is goin' te happen... I am the favourite after all... I will use that to my advantage. He looked at Cael who had been, and still looked like he was crying. Cian furrowed his brow and got up. He moved over to where his little brother was and hugged him close in comfort. I'm sorry... I didn't mean te yell at you... I'm sorry. He continued to hug his baby brother close and looked at Pauley. He did feel bad about yelling at him. He hated doing it.. but he was a compassonate person. This was proof of how much he cared for Cael. Atleast he was apologising. He heaved a sigh.I will call mum an' dad too, cause i doubt you told them Cael.... He looked at Pauley again. He knew there was something going on with her. Atleast he could feel it. Perhaps once they were all in bed, he would ask her in the privacy of their bedroom.

Glad things were calming down, Pauley felt a little burp form and threaten to escape, but she made sure it didn't. It would haven livened up the atmosphere, but it was still embarresing to burp in front of Cian. Well, it was more the fact that Cael was there, really. She was finally over the morning sickness, but there was still two more trimesters to go, and she had read that gas was only going to get worse. Good. That's all settled. Cian, call your parents first. I know they must be really upset. Both of their boys running off to America without telling them. If you must, call Mr. Donnelly. Maybe he will take it easy on Cael. Now if you don't mind, the baby is screaming for something to eat.
Getting up, she gathered the plates and mugs onto the silver serving platter and left for the kitchen, giving the boys the privacy they needed for the phone calls. Setting the dirty dishes into the dishwasher, she gathered the things to make up a meat loaf, homemade mashed potatoes and some fried green beans. As she cooked, she turned the radio on the counter on softly and hummed along, enjoying, for now, the domestic ways.

He nodded at Pauley and removed the cell from his pocket. Sliding it open, he quickly drilled out the number and let it ring. Hugging his little brother closer. Comforting him as he had been the cause of Cael's tears. He felt bad for him. A pick up sounded and he began. Hello? mum.... I have Cael with me..
(oh... my god.... I am so sorry this is ^ that short. v_v i fail.. but atleast its over. XD )
