Cael wasn't so sure he wanted to know anymore. With the way this was seeming, he was beginning to wonder if Cian had been shot, or threatened in some way. Maybe it was work related and they just didn't know. Maybe those who wronged Cian possibly were involved in that work. Maybe they were just so good at their job, Pauley and Cian were never the wiser. No, Cael shook it all away. He didn't want to focus on this too much. He didn't want to think on it and speculate on things that might be false ideas. He would learn soon enough. Now there was another thing. Pauley kept mentioning how it wasn't safe to talk out here. Why not? Were things here, really that bad? Must be. Cael didn't question and simply obeyed. He really wanted to find out the source of this big mystery. Another block was passed. He wondered aloud. Um... How much further is it? He quirried.

Shifting the bag to her other shoulder, Pauley sighed heavily. Having Cael show up unexpected at the house may not be the best idea, but it was the only one she had. She could see the house up ahead and answered his question. "It's right up here, actually." One hundred yards down the street and they arrived at her and Cian's new country like home. It had three bedrooms and two baths, and she couldn't be happier with the place. Especially since Cian liked it. As long as he was happy, she was, too. It made her think of the baby that was forming in her belly, and she smiled to herself. Cael would soon learn about that as well. Unlocking the door, she stepped back and waved Cael inside, closing and locking the door behind her. "Cian, I'm home! I brought someone with me." She had nearly forgotten her original reason for leaving the house, but she forced it to the back of her mind. It was something that could be dealt with later.

Cael looked at her and frowned slightly. His bag was pretty heavy. He had packed a lot as he suspected that he would be here for a while. mention that they were nearly there. Just up the way a little, he smiled. Oh, okay. he said with a delighted tone. Walking then up to the place. Cael couldn't help but wonder at the price of the place. He looked at it again. It was really beautiful on the outside. Imagining the beauty on the inside, he stepped inside and followed Pauley. Looking around as he stood there. He was hopeful to see his brother. He stood there quietly. He was now cooking up the different ways that Cian could greet him in. He knew that he wouldn't be happy about this. Atleast a little upset. If that happened, then Cael would atleast know that Cian still was concerned about him and cared for him. You have a very nice house Pauley.. He said quietly.

Setting the bag by the door, she smiled and led the way through to the living room. It was a nice house, and the two had been lucky to find it. But they had bought it outright. She had chipped in more than Cian had, but she didn't think either one of them minded much. "Please, sit down. Would you like something to drink or eat? I will go find Cian. He is probably upstairs sleeping or something." As she passed the counter in the kitchen, Pauley saw the other piece of paper that had come in the letter revealing her mother's death, and that was when she realized she still had the first page rumpled up in her hand. Dropping the paper next to it's mate on the counter, she set to work fixing up some iced water and a platter of cheese and crackers. Who knew when the last time Ceal ate was? Once back in the living room with the water and platter, she smiled, her pink eyes alight with happiness, but a trace of something else behind them. "Now, eat something and I will see if your brother is home."

He followed her quietly. Hoping that he might catch a glimpse of Cian still. Into the living room. Cael, chose a seat on the chesterfield. Carefully perching on the edge of it. He knew that he wasn't very clean, nor was his outfit, so he was trying his best not to mess up the lovely furniture. He only nodded when she asked about food. Cael hadn't eaten since he arrived, and so any kind of food was welcomed. When she returned with the food. Cael picked up several at once and immediately stuffed a few in his face. Chewing them up quickly like a starved animal and swallowing. He then realized how rude this must seem. The pit of his stomach suddenly hurt as it realized it was getting food. That always made things worse. He looked up at Pauley. Thank you.. Then he proceeded to stuff his face. However when he looked at her, he noticed something off about her. But maybe that was just was way she was. Cael didn't know her. Not really. So he couldn't say, yet he was assuming it had something to do with why she was crying and that note that had been in her hand. It wasn't his place to ask though, so he wouldn't. Knowing Cian, if this wasn't normal, then he would probably ask. He just hoped that his big brother wouldn't be too angry with him.

Moving quickly up the stairs, Pauley's mind wondered momentarily back to the letter crumpled on the counter. Her mother was dead. That's pretty much all there was to it. It wasn't as if she knew the woman, but still, it hurt all the same. Opening the door tot he master bedroom, she couldn't help but smile at the sight before her. Cian was curled up on the bed, fast asleep. He always looked so peaceful when he was sleeping. She knew while awake, his always had a lot going through his head, sometimes, he thought too much. But when asleep, he looked very peaceful.
Not wanting to wake her fiancee, but knowing he would want to be up for this, Pauley sat on the edge of the bed and shook Cian softly. Cian, baby. There is someone here to see you. You need to get up, honey. Climbing into the bed behind him, she soothed his hair and kissed his cheek. Cian, your brother is here. Wake up, love.

His greatest escape was sleep. If he was able to sleep, he was usually able to escape the thoughts, ideas and memories that plagued him while he was wakeful. It was one thing that he enjoyed. It was right up there was sex, pauley, and food. Those were his favourite things at the moment. Oh, and the baby that Pauley would have. He was anxious for that. but something was wrong. He felt a hand on him, shaking him slightly. A voice trying to wake him. He furrowed his brow and groaned in displeasure. Rolling over a little. He settled in more. Like a stubborn child not wanting to go to school. But the second time was accompanied by a kiss. Cian opened his eyes and he opened his eyes. Groggily looking about. He's in Glasgow... wha's goin' on? He was so tired looking. Bed head was something else. Cael? here? What? He muttered silently with a sigh. Let me get some pants on... I'll be down in a minute. He swing his legs out of bed and rubs the sleep out of his eyes. He walks over to the dresser and pulls out a pair of pants, slipping them on. Cian always slept in the nude. it was far more comfortable for him. Where is he? Cian was still pretty out of it so he wasn't fully aware of what was going on.

Sitting up and giving the love of her life room to move around and to think, Pauley frowned as he got dressed. He is in the living room, eating something. He ran into me while I was out for a walk, and well, I brought his back here. Kid looks like he hasn't eaten since he got here two days ago. Cian, I want to warn you, he came because he was worried about you. Like brother like brother, eh? She smiled softly and stood, pecking Cian on the cheek before running her hands through his hair, getting it to lay down a bit. Now, ready to see your baby brother?

He was still out of it and barely heard her. But he shrugged and nodded. Not really understanding that Cael was in the house and was worried about him. He smiled at the kiss and then left the room. Shuffling down the stairs, he headed into the living room as he had been told thats where Cael was. Cian looked at him and it took a moment to register. Cael? Wha' the bloody hell are you doin' here?! It was both a reaction of joy and being upset that Cael didn't tell him he was coming. Cian was just assuming that their parents knew he was here. He was smiling though. Moving immediately to him and lifting the boy to his feet in a good hug. Cian had failed to notice that his wrists were obviously showing. So those scars were quite visible.

Padding down the stairs behind Cian, she left the boys to their reuniting with a smile and set to work, making some coffee for her sleep beau. She entered the kitchen and once again looked at the papers onthe counter, but forced herself not to think about them. The dead can wait. It was time for the living. Inhaling deeply, she took in the aroma of the ground coffee beans and turned the pot on. Hopefully things were going will with the brothers.

He was waiting for a while. Sitting patiently and eating all that he could. He was so hungry. finally he heard movement and looked up to see his very tired looking brother. He lit up immediately and embraced Cian back as he was hugged tightly. I came to see you Cian.. thats what i am doing here.. I missed you so much, i have been so worried. Cian you stopped calling.. i asked if you were alright and mum started crying.. Did something happen? he always was like that. Asking questions like that all the time. He wanted to make damn sure Cian was alright, especially since he had seen the scars on Cian's wrists. His mind jumped to attempt at suicide. He looked up at his brother. You didn't try to... he gave a 'you know' face. did you? Now he was really worried. He took a seat and sat rigidly. Something he did when he wanted to know something indefinately.

After hugging his brother a little longer, he let go. Listening to the flood of the usual. But hearing that their mother was led to cry at such an innocent statement, he felt his heart drop. Then a sesitive question. Two actually, if something happened, and the second one being about his wrists. Cian looked at them then rubbed his wrists on the sides of his waist a little in discomfort with where this was going. He looked at Cael, then stepped back a little. Sit. Already he was feeling sick. He had to tell Cael now, if he was staying with them, what if Cian woke in the middle of the night screaming again? Better that he know now then later. Walking over to one of the other chairs, Cian sat down. He really wanted someone else to tell Cael. He didn't want to tell him. His little brother looked up to him a lot, and he knew that. Not only that, but it was so embarrassing. He felt ashamed still. Probably would for a long time to come. Once Cael was seated, he began. Or atleast tried to. He never liked revisiting the whole thing because once more it was a memory that was pushed to the front of the line.
Cael... something did happen. You probably will wish you never heard it... He sighed deeply. Perhaps this was so hard because he was family. He was his baby brother. Cian usually protected him from this kind of information. It was the whole reason he told his parents not to tell him. He didn't want Cael to know. Now he was trying to to figure how to say it, and he was stalling for time. Delaying what needed to be said. He just didn't want to. It was making him really uncomfortable. This was going to be harder to say then he thought. It had been a long time since he had to tell what happened, but he would try and start. He would start with a much easier fact. I was taken off the street a few months ago... I was held captive for around forty eight hours or longer... during tha' time I..He heaved a sigh. Stopping to pick his nails a little and rub his wrists. He really didn't want to tell him. The occassional glance at Cael, then to his wrists again. This was hard.

He watched his brother curiously. Sitting down as he had been intructed. His brow was furrowed. On the edge of the sofa seat he sat. Watching his brother intently. There was obvious struggle when as he was speaking. Cael wasn't blind to that. He knew perfectly well that Cian was having trouble with this. Was it really that bad? It couldn't be. But as he listened longer and the information became known that he was, or had infact been kidnapped at some point. Cael sat stunned. But what happened to him? Something about the wrists. That was a given. But what happened? Whatever it was, it was something that he was clearly having trouble with. He was patient. He could wait. Cael didn't want his brother uncomfortable, but it seemed like he had already done that.

Unsure of what was going on in the living room since she could hear much, Pauley let the coffee finish just enough for two mugs, then fixed up some hot chocolate for Cael. The kid probably needed something to warm his bones, and the boy was too young, in her opinion, for coffee. Placing the three mugs on a silver serving tray with some mini marshmallows for Cael's hot cocoa, she quietly entered the living room and set the tray on the new coffee table. Handing each male their mug, she sat next to Cian on the sofa, giving him her support through all of this. He would need it, and she would be right there to give it to him.

Cian looked at Cael and was about to make and attempt at spilling, but Pauley walked in. Thank god! He took the coffee and smiled a thanks to her. He took a sip. Grateful that she was in the room now. He didn't feel so good about this, but it had to be done. He heaved a deep sigh. Looking at Cael, he really didn't really want to tell. He hated it so much. I was um.... I was... God damnit! Why was this so hard to say to him?! He just couldn't say it! Perhaps it was all rounded down to simply the fact that Cael was his baby brother. Cael looked up to him, he knew that. He tried to protect him from all of this stuff. He just didn't want to say it. It was almost like he feared that his little brother would hate him afterwards. This was so frustrating it was actually bringing tears to his eyes a little. Not falling, but his eyes were pretty bloodshot and red. Glassy. It was easier with his parents because he could just blurt it out over the phone and not see their expressions. But here, Cael was right in front of him. He decided to just blurt it out. If he was to try and treat it sensitively, then he was really going to have a hard time with it. So for his own greedy reasons, he just said it. Blunt, blurted, and fast.
I was um.... Beaten an' r-raped. There he said it. it was over and done with and he could just leave it at that. He lifted his feet. Now sitting cross legged on the couch. Hunched over with coffee in hand. He looked everywhere but at Cael and Pauley. Sure, Pauley knew about it. Shit she found him. But still. He felt sick everytime he had to bring it up. He didn't take time to drink the coffee slowly, he downed it. Sure, it was burning. His throat was sore from the burning. But he wanted out of the room. I'm gettin' more coffee... be right back.. He got up and walked out of the room. Sure, he would return once he had more coffee. But for now, he just didn't want to deal with it. He started to get some more coffee, but he caught a glimpse of some papers on the counter. Cian frowned a little and wiped the tears that did fall away. Going to the one that looked more crumpled, he peered at it briefly. Curiosity was a bugger. He stopped and began to fix his coffee again. he would ask Pauley later.
