He stood there kind of stunned. He was about ready to get hit. But that was stupid. He listened as the man went on. That he knew Cian was lying. About how Cian was even upsetting the dog. At that statement, his eyes darted down to the poor little thing. He felt sorry, but he couldn't help it. He really couldn't. If Dante knew, if he only knew, then he ould understand Cian's uneasiness. His seemingly irrational fear of what appeared to be nothing. Cian wanted to believe the man. He would absolutely love to. He would put trust in him. But there would be that reserve. That small reserve. Looking down the alley, he saw those people again. Cian was more afraid of them then he was Dante. What was one thing that Dante could do? Cian thought on it for less then a second. He would have just come right out and said, don't rape me. But that would not be a very pleasant or easy thing to say so he settled with.. Just... please, don' touch me... I don' mean offence by tha'. I have issues.. He said it quietly, but it was honest. As long as he wasn't touched, he would be fine.

Dante wanted to know what was up. He really, truly did. He wanted to know why this guy was so jumpy. He wanted to know if someone had done something horrible to him. He just simply wanted to know. But then again, there were some things other people wanted to know- like why he was twenty and living on the streets and why he was so damn thin- about him but he wasn't going to answer. Yes. He was thin. He spent the spare money he had mostly on making sure that Koala was taken care of, and since he usually had only twenty dollars to spend a week- he was usually the one going a day or so without food. He wouldn't make Koala go hungry- he was just a dog. He couldn't make the choice for himself. So Dante would do what was best for the dog. This was why, when he was changing or without a shirt on, especially as of late people could see the beginning of his ribs showing. Recently, he hadn't been going to bars or the like, his income had lowered, but he was getting by. As long as he didn't die. That was all he needed. Since he hadn't been going out, he hadn't slept with anyone recently. So no one but him noticed his super thinning.
And then he heard Cian's answer to his question. He just nodded, "Alright. Wasn't planning on it anyway," he then realized how that could potentially sound like an insult, he grinned, "No offense." He then looked down the alley, "We should go soon, I brought all the stuff so I wouldn't have to return, but we still need a place for tonight."

Cian was glad that he wasn't going to be touched. He could handle something like a hand shake. Or even being bumped into on accident. But anything more then that. Like a grip on his forearm, or elsewhere. He would probably pull away in fear and panic. Cian nodded on the leaving soon issue. That would be the best option. But he felt a growl in his stomach. Hunger. He was hungry. He placed a hand absently to his stomach. Not even realizing he hadn't eaten supper yet. He looked to Dante. The man was nice enough not to kill, mame, or rape him. He was being kind and helping to keep him from the dangers that were out at this time. Cian looked at him and the least he could do was.. Hungry...? I know a place tha' allows dogs in it. Actually, that was a lie. But he had no worry about money and all he had to do was mention Donnelly and he could get whatever he wanted. You look like you could use a good meal. He hoped that this didn't offend him. But he was feeling bad for his behaviour. And for freaking the dog out. He didn't think it was that bad. But apparently so. Koala can get a steak...

He was glad that Cian was at least a little more comfortable around him. At least he wasn't completely freaking like earlier. Dante was ready to start moving out when he heard Cian's stomach growl. He himself was lucky, his stomach was a quiet one and didn't really growl much anymore. Dante had gotten to the point almost where he was so hungry he wasn't hungry anymore- if that made any sense. But then when the man suggested they go out to eat, his hunger started to kick in again. Sure he had eaten McDonalds earlier, but that could only fill so much when someone was below empty. Of course, life had taught him not to expect too much from random strangers He liked the sound of it, not really hearing the part about him looking like he needed a good meal. He had been focusing on his previous thoughts and keeping his stomach quiet he had missed it. But he wouldn't have taken offense anyway. He knew his arms were even getting on the thin side. He looked at Cian, obviously not really used to the whole 'treating someone to dinner' sorta thing when talking about him. He really wanted to be able to go, he wished he had the money. But truth be told, he could barely afford the 99 cent meal at McDonalds. How could he afford food for himself and his dog? He couldn't. And his mind hadn't even considered the fact that Cian would take care of the bill. So he looked at Cian, "As much as I'd love to, I don't have any cash. So I'll have to pass."

Cian shook his head. No sir.. you misunderstood me. He said. This guy had clearly missed it. But then again, he himself if in this situation, would have assumed the same. That he was to pay his own way. I am buying. I have more then enough for it. So don' worry about expense. He looked up at the man. Had to look up. Cian was shorter then this guy. Not by much. A few inches. But it was enough that he had to look up just a hair. No matter what, Cian was always a kind hearted person. His trust was growing by the second. But he did still have that fear.

Dante paused a moment, thinking about the situation. Okay. So a free meal would be great, but... No. He was sure he could trust Cian. Yep. That was Dante. So eager to trust people that he would blindly throw the word around. Maybe it was more desire than just carelessness though. He had been hurt many times in the past by those who betrayed his trust. Or by those he didn't even really trust to begin with. Maybe, at this point, he just wanted one person to not throw his hopes back at him? That seemed like the reason. So he would trust Cian with this. And if he wound up lying about that too... well, Dante would just move on. He smiled at Cian, "Really? Thanks. That would be a lot of help actually... and Koala's excited," he chuckled a little, looking down at the dog who was sitting by this point, just wagging his tail- tongue hanging out, he looked back to Cian, "So just lead the way. Like I said, I'll be close by- these guys wont bother us."

Cian nodded and smiled a little. This was going to be nice. He would get to fill his own stomach, and treat someone out aswell. Well, not just that. But this guy genuinly looked like he was in need of food. Good decent food and he knew the perfect place. Cian led the way. Out of the alley and onto the streets. Heading down the first block. Then the second. He heaved a sigh as he searched. Looking up and down the streets. Glacinging back every so often to catch a look at Dante and Koala. He smiled a little and then continued walked. Then he found it. Below the brightly glowing neon lights. A beautiful restaraunt where fine dining would be had. All glass in the front of the place. Cian had been there before on a meeting once. He planned on taking Pauley there for a night out aswell. But he knew the meals there were large and far more then fillling. The dessert alone would fill a man. He stopped and looked at Dante and Koala. Bringing them both inside. Immediately someone came out. The manager. hoitie toitie he was. I am sorry sir.. but we do not allow dogs in here. You will have to... Cian smiled and approached him. Stopping him in mid sentance. Seating for three... tha' is no' a request sir. If you would be so kind. The manager looked at Cian in disdain. Speaking quieter and more serious in that arrogant tone. Snootie if you will. We cannot allow it. Cian smiled. Party of three.... Donnelly sir.. The man's expression changed immediately. Lighting up. Why didn't you say so before?! And might i add.. that is a beautiful looking pooch. Come, all three of you. Right this way please. He beamed and motioned for Dante and Koala to follow. They were seated and menus handed out. The manager left. as much as you want. Have three meals a piece. It doesn't matter to me. He began to look up his own meal.

Dante kept behind at a steady pace, Koala at his heels as he walked with him. He was glad that Cian seemed at least a bit more comfortable with him. It calmed Koala too. Normally his dog wasn't that skittish, but he still didn't like things that made him uncomfortable. Every time Cian would look back, Dante would give a small smile back, not breaking pace as he walked. His hand gently held the old black leash going to Koala's collar. Unfortunately, the collar only a tag with his name on it. Dante couldn't put a number or an address... he didn't have a phone and he didn't have a home. Then he thought of something. He could maybe ask... he looked at Cian. He'd ask later. But soon they arrived outside of the restaurant. It was beautiful, and Dante couldn't believe they would allow a dog. As he looked at it some other people passed by, Koala interested in them as he moved over to sniff them. But before he could get near, one of them looked down at the puppy with a scowl, "Mutt." the person said harshly before continuing on. Dante glared at their backs as he bent down to Koala.
"They're just jealous," he said softly as he took the dog in his arms and stood again, holding him tightly to his body. Before muttering in their direction, not really wanting them to hear, "Assholes." He then saw the manager come out and speak. No dogs? But... Cian had said- he then heard him cut off by Cian. He was confused as to what was happening. Why was Cian suddenly so bold? Dante kept a tight hold on his dog as he heard Cian say a word. What was it? Dante couldn't tell before the man complimented Koala. Dante could only chuckle a little to himself. Koala had been called a mutt and a pooch in less than five minutes. He grinned at that before they were brought over to a seat and given menus. Dante placed Koala in the chair next to him, the dog looking a bit confused, but otherwise content. Dante looked at Cian a bit surprised. Even if he could have whatever he wanted... he still wouldn't want to push his luck. He didn't know how fragile it was. So he smiled at Cian, "Thanks, though I think we'll be fine with just one thing each," he chuckled a little. Dante did feel a bit out of place here though. It was so nice, people were dressed in clean clothes and everything. Dante just had a grubby old bag with his life in it at his side and old clothes he had had since he was sixteen at the most. Sure he had used the public baths to clean, but public baths were only so clean themselves. But he was fine. And he was here with someone who was helping his meal issues, so that was good enough.

Cian smiled at him and Koala. He was going to throw the family name around a little. Not just here either. Cian looked over the menu a little. Well... alrigh'. Just aslong as ye fill yourselves. You can order te go too if you like.. I mean. Take an extra meal with ye. He smiled and continued to look over the menu. The manager was going to personally serve them. Cian knew that much. thats what always happened when he threw the family name around. He looked over it for a little while longer. Before the manager came forward asking for orders. He brought with him water in tall glasses on a little round trollie. Accompanied by an assortment of all sorts of other drinks to select from. he then presented a crystal soup bowl with finely marked etchings on it filled with water and set it infront of Koala on the table. Cian made his selection for the order and now it was all to wait for Dante and Koala.

Dante smiled gently at Cian, "Alright, we'll be sure to do that," he said. He didn't want to take advantage, but he knew as soon as he started eating real food (not just the crappy stuff from MickyD's) his stomach would start showing just how hungry he really was. Or... or it could go the other way. It would make him feel more full than he really was. Of course his body couldn't gain weight that easily now. It was one of those things that solid meals over time would fix, but just splurging once wouldn't. But he definitely liked the idea of taking something with them. It would make things better for tomorrow. The time was short between when he had made his selection as well as what Koala could have and when the man came with the water. He said a soft 'thanks' when he got the water, and Koala seemed more than pleased to have the water in front of him. He happily started lapping up some of it, tail wagging as Dante ordered his meal as well as Koala's, opting for boneless chicken for the dog instead of steak. He knew the chicken meat would have less effect on her health. And he didn't have money for a vet, unfortunately. He was saving up though. He then remembered something when the manager had left. He looked at Cian, "Um... I know you've already done a lot for us, but, may I ask another favor?"

Cian smiled as the orders had arrived surprisingly quickly. But then again, he suspected it was due to the name flashing. No other method could get such rapid service. He then looked down at the seasoned steak. There was a side of baked potato. Steaming with melted cheese over the spud. Peas and carrots. Steaming aswell. God did it ever smell good. He smiled in thanks to the waiter and began on the food. But when Dante asked his question. Cian looked up at him and nodded with a grin. He was feeling safer and much more confident being surrounded by people and in a place he knew. It made him relax. Wha' might tha' be? He would like to help all he could.

Dante had ordered pasta, the Alfredo sauce drizzled over the chicken making the whole thing look even more delicious to the half-starved man. He took his fork, ready to dig in as well. But then he heard a small whimpering as he looked over to the dog sitting next to him. The dog just gazed into Dante's eyes before looking back at its chicken then back to his owner. Dante got what the dog wanted, "Alright, alright, you know, most dogs just eat the chicken whole..." he said as he put his fork down before he took the first bite and moved over to Koala's chicken, cutting it up into small pieces for the dog. "There, better?" The dog answered by starting to gobble up his food. Dante chuckled before hearing Cian's response. He turned to him, "Well, you see, Koala's collar only has his name on it since... well, I don't have a house nor do I have phone. I was wondering if you wouldn't mind me using your address and phone number? So if he get's lost, they can call you instead of sending him to the pound."

He continued to munch away at the food. Watching in amusement as the dog snubbed the uncut poultry. At how Dante had to cut it up. Odd, Cian too thought that a dog would just woof down whatever was on the plate. Oh well. The dog was unique. Let it be and have its way. Dante explained what his question was. Cian didn't even have to think about it. He nodded and smiled. Swallowing what he was chewing on before taking a drink and smiling. O' course. He wouldn't turn that down. He then looked around. Pulling a receipt from his pocket, along with a pen. Cian turned the paper and wrote on the back. Jotting down the address. He stopped and scratched it out. That was the old address. He remembered the new one. The address to his house on 8th street. It was a lovely house. Quite big. Actually, it was really big. The master bath, was as big as a normal master bedroom. Once the address was down, he looked it over. Then, as an added feature, he threw in his cell number and the house number. Holding it out and handing it to Dante, he smiled. Taking another bite and then swallowing. There... ye got me numbers as well. Both o' them. If ye need a place te stay, or need help, come by or call me. He smiled. We will 'ave a room for you. He meant it too. Cian never messed about with this stuff. Out in the dark, in the alley. Dante seemed more threatening. Far more threatening then he actually was. Dante was actually quite pleasant, and affectionate. Certainly no killer.

The dog ate the food quickly, as if he were starving. Though one look at the dog would show otherwise. Dante always made sure Koala was healthy and had more than enough to eat- putting that as a priority above his own food. He didn't want the dog to feel abused. Or maybe he was just too soft. Oh well. At the moment he had his first real meal in he didn't know how long, and so did his dog. He waited for the guy's answer on his request and his face melted into a soft smile, glad that Cian agreed to it. It had always been Dante's biggest fear- Koala being picked up by the cops or something without him being there to protect him. Then not being able to find him again because there was no way of contacting Dante. But now... now if he was lost they'd give him to Cian. And Cian would be able to take care of Koala until he could get there. He looked at the address, vaguely knowing how to get there just from walking around aimlessly as he did on most nights. He took the paper. He heard Cian's offer and gave him a grateful smile, "Thank you so much, Cian. I'll try not to bother you, I was just always concerned about Koala getting lost and not having any place to go. You've really helped me, I owe you big time." he chuckled lightly, his food almost finished. He hadn't realized how quickly he ate it, but probably being half starved was the cause. Though he didn't notice, his mind was currently working on spending the little money he had saved up on getting Koala's tag updated. He would have a few cents left over. So he wouldn't be completely broke. He put his fork down, not having anymore food and yet still a bit peckish as he let his mind wander for a moment. This guy... he had been so jumpy before. What had happened to him to get him to act like that?

Cian smiled and chuckled a little as he forked a little more of the remaining food into his mouth. Chewing it quickly and swallowing. Happy to be filling the empty stomach. It really wouldn't be a bother. If it was, or would be... I wouldn't have offered. He took a drink. Bringing the glass to his lips and letting the cold water pass over them. Over his tongue, down his throat and finally to settle in his stomach. He looked at Dante. Figuring he owed him an apology. For what? For the simple reason that he had been so jumpy and nervous as hell. Scared even. Dante, I owe you an apology. He said quietly. Looking at him he was keeping his voice low and hushed so too many people wouldn't hear him. It wasn't any of their business. I'm sorry i was so jumpy an' freaked out earlier... I had jus' come from me appointment, an' I have jus' had a few... um... How would he say it? How could he word it? problems. So I'm sorry. He wasn't going to come out and say, I was raped and beaten over a 48 hour period of captivity. That wouldn't be smart.
He barely knew Dante, so those details wouldn't be given by him. Not yet atleast. well, maybe. He wasn't sure if he could tell Dante or not. If the man did end up asking, Cian was now debating as to whether he could answer it. It was a thuroghly embarrassing fact about him. Sure, Pauley told him that it didn't make him any less of a man, but that wasn't what bothered him. He knew that it was something that could happen to anyone. But it was more or less embarrassing that he hadn't been able to defend himself. That he had been kidnapped and locked up. Then being roughed up a little, being stripped and used. Over and over. Alright, so it wasn't just the one thing. Everything about it had ruined him. He had escaped, but just barely and had Pauley not found him, Cian surely would have died in that alley. He drank back some more of the water and sighed a little. Looking at Koala with a smile.
