Another day, another job. Toshi was on strict orders by his boss, and step father, Il-sung to keep watch of the uprising amongst their rivals in the city. Apparently the Donnelly family was on the rise though the Yakuza was never fully against them. As long as the Donnelly’s stayed out of their business they would try to do the same but there were times when that was just not possible. Toshi wasn’t ordered to do anything, he wasn’t even supposed to trail anyone like he has had to do in the past but right now if he heard anything he was supposed to go immediately to Il-sung and tell him. Well, anything incriminating anyways. Which meant mostly if they were talking about the Yakuza, or any of their own dealings he would have to tell someone about it. They couldn’t have the Donnelly’s planning some sort of attack, or even trying to steal their business’s. That just wouldn’t do. More or less, Toshi was the eyes and ears of the Yakuza meant only to hear and see but not to be seen. At least by the other gangs anyways. This was a job he always hated, it always made him feel terrible doing this but he had to, for his boss.
Sitting on a lone bench in the park, with an open book in front of him. Toshi was quite deep in the book, sort of falling away from the world. Flipping over the page, reading over the new bit of information. This life wasn’t really for him, Toshi would much rather be out trying to find his real parents and Il-sung secretly knew that too. The man couldn’t blame Toshi, having his parents taken away from him like that. If only they were still here he wouldn’t be in this business. At least he has a caring step father, and darling Su-young and Sang-woo, such sweet step siblings. Unlike his step mother Sun-hi, the bitch from hell has been nothing but wretched to him. Just hopefully one day he could go and find his real parents, if they were still alive. Letting out a soft sigh, he turned over the page and began to read it as a light breeze picked up. Toshi was dressed for it though so he didn’t care. Placing his elbow onto his knee and pressing his index finger against his temple. A headache pounding through his skull, today was going to be a long, treacherous day.

After a while of trying to take away Pauley's fears, Cian was finally able to leave their home. He really didn't want her worrying too much for him. This was just a pick up and nothing more. Part one of two. Earlier he had recieved a phone call. Exaclty twenty four hours before hand. He wasn't sure if this was how everyone else in the family operated. But it was how he worked with the family head. Cian took his keys in hand and left. After telling her to lock the door behind him. Purely out of caution. He walked down the steps. Taking each one at a time as he pocketed his keys. He double checked for his phone. Then pulled the small device out and making sure it was left on. Tucking the small black phone away again. He began his journy to the park again. He just hoped that there were no complications in a simple pick up. There wasn't even supposed to be anyone there. So it was a simple case of finding the drop off location. The last time he was in the park, he had gone far out of his way to bring Pauley a supper. But it was all worth it for her. The ending was just how he had planned it anyway. So there was no complaints when he cleaned it all up later.
One thing that pissed Cian off about his boss, was not the fact that he treated Cian like a pet. But the fact that he screwed around with so many different people. The last job Cian was on was supposed to be a simple fly here, have a meeting, then go home again on the plane. But no. Instead those with him were all shot. As were the russians that Cian was meeting. Point was, Cian's boss ripped someone off and things went to hell. So here he was, assuming this was a patch up for the botch. He was still pissed that his perfect record of negotiations had been botched because of someone else. Strolling through the park though was a good thing. Relaxing and it was calming him, as he remembered the fond little things about this park. Pauley for one, revealing her pregnancy. That was pleasant. But as soon as he made his way through to the near center of the park, Cian passed by several benches. Letting his brilliant blue eyes dart around. Searching for that little nook. Then, there he saw it. A smile spread on his face and he approached it. Inside the edge of a garbage bin. There was a space between the decorative outer casing and the inner actual garbage disposal. He nipped out the envelope with his index and middle fingers. Carrying the brown paper over to the nearest and most hidden bench. Taking a seat he began to open it and read the letted inside.

Toshi sat back, stretching his legs out in from of himself. Today was going to be a long one, wasn’t it? Why did his father insist upon giving him this task? There were plenty of others qualified to do such a thing, and some that were lower in ranks who could even do it. Il-sung gave him the assignment because he trusted Toshi the most out of all the rest, even Il-sung’s own right hand man wasn’t as trusted as Toshi. The rest of the guys always wondered why Toshi wasn’t in fact Il-sungs next in command, but the reason behind that was because Toshi just didn’t have his whole heart in the business. It was never a passion of his but he did it because Toshi was practically apart of it already what with always being around Il-sung. The man had trusted Toshi with all his secrets ever since he was little and stumbled upon his secret of being a Yakuza. Turning yet another page, a slight breeze caught the edge of it and made it flutter a bit. Pressing down the paper, letting his eyes skim through the words. The book came alive right before his very eyes, almost like a movie. Every word danced before Toshi, coming to life and leaping off the page. Reading books was a passion of his, it brought him away from every day life into the lives of others. Just the knowledge that the story most likely never happened brought him at ease until he set the book down. Being pulled back into reality only to wish he could be part of the book itself.
After coming back to earth from the fabled hills of yore, Toshi peeled his eyes away from the words before him only to see Cian Mahoney. Good...just like I had expected. Keeping the book open in front of him only to keep up appearances. Flicking his eyes down to the page but not reading anything, only to look back up at Cian. Toshi repeated those actions, making sure he didn’t miss anything that he was doing. When he caught sight of a package his eyes were now fixed solely on Cian. What was in there? What were the Donnelly’s up to now? Watching as the man brought out a paper, reading it over Toshi tried his best not to focus solely on him as to not bring suspicion to himself but he wanted to gage his reaction. Marking the page with a bookmark, Toshi flipped the page over and turned his eyes downward to make sure he wasn’t bringing unwanted attention to himself. All he could do now was watch and wait to see what the mans next action would be.

Nothing was taking Cian's focus away. There was no possible way. Took focused on the task at hand, he read over the letter. In the back of his mind he was wondering exactly who dropped these things off. Cian himself never knew. But perhaps that was best. But whoever it was, Cian wanted to strangle them. The expression on his face drifted over from content and relaxed, to a furrowed brown of frustration and irritation. He couldn't help but nearly glare at the letter as he read it over. Dealing with a smaller family. One out of Russia. Cian had to meet with them once before. This same branch. It was why he had come over and the meeting went straight to hell. Turning into a blood bath and it was one hell of a botch. One that was now surely known by many. Cian's boss had fucked with the wrong people and this was now going to be a kiss and make-up deal. No, he did not want to do this. He was worried about it. This wasn't a smart move and he wasn't having it.
Cian tucked the letter back in the envelope and set next to him on the bench. Staring at it with disdain as he soon removed the cell phone from his pocket. Taking a quick sweeping glance of the area, he didn't see anything unusual. Dialing up, he then put the phone to his ear. A few moments later, Cian began to speak. "Tha's not smart." a short period of silence between each group of words as the other end spoke. "This is Cian you bloody idiot..... no, put him on......." There was a long silence as a mildly irritated Scot sat and waited. "Sir? I'm sorry, but this is a stupid move.......... Aye, it is............. I am doin' my job, and I am telling you this isn't smart. Its too soon." He huffed a little. Waiting as he got a response on the other end. Oh sure, he talks about a new deal in place. The boundaries being set and Cian cut him off. "Sir, I mean no disrespect, but i am telling you, this is not going te be that simple." He then sat for a little while longer. Arguing about it some more over the line. Cian was one of the only people who could talk to the head of the family like this. Being the favourite granted him this ability.
