Ah the mall, such a place of wonder! Looking about like a child in a candy shop, Misaki wondered around the huge building with wide eyes. Of course, this was not her first time being in this wondrous place, but it never failed to amaze her how much was happening! Evening was drawing close, but still vast amounts of people walked to and from the various shops that lined the walls, each going about their business as usual. She couldn't believe that there was this much activity in such a seemingly ordinary place. The whole city seemed to have ended up here! Okay, so that was a bit of an exaggeration, but it sure seemed like it could! Taking a seat on one of the many little benches that lined the middle of the walkway, Misaki watched with a content smile as people milled about around her. She didn't much feel like shopping today, although the distraction might do her some good. In an hour or so, evening would fall again and she would have to leave anyway, and that was not enough time for a woman like her to satisfy her shopping urge. Kae would be upset if she was late getting home again, so she vowed not to put her poor son through that. Besides, people watching could be just as much fun.
Shifting her bag up into her lap, she smiled fondly at the little children who walked dutifully next to their mothers. Their little eyes glowing with innocence as they looked about the place. Oh children... she remembered Kae when he was that age. He was a dear sweet child, always curious and always looking to please - she had loved to take him out to experience the world as often as she could. He had loved that... Misa shook her head and stood up once more. Daydreaming the rest of the daylight hours would do her no good. She might as well get home now and start up making dinner, in case by the off chance Kae decided to come home tonight. Sighing loudly, she slung her purse over her shoulder, and began to walk out of the mall again. It was too bad she couldn't stay longer... but life was waiting for beyond those doors and she had to face it sometime. It might as well be now.
